Yellow & Pink at Passion for #Promarkers

Its a colour theme this week at Passion for Promarkers and we are using Yellow and Pink which is lovely for this time of year.  We are sponsored by LETRASET who are offering a stamping kit as a prize so well worth taking the plunge!

I don't have much yellow in the way of papers or embellishments and my printer ink had run out so I couldn't rely on my collection from Bearly Mine (Have replaced carts today!) so had to have a good rummage!  I've coloured this stamp by Sarah Kay in yellows, pink and brown now get the flags out I've actually USED it haha!  I bought this at Port Sunny in gosh must have been just before I started on Stampman so October 2009 *blushes* and she sat in a bag for the first 6 months and I stamped her out a few times but never coloured her so this is a first outing lol!  I hope this qualifies for Pollycraft who's theme is old neglected stamp, she's neglected for sure and was inked up over a year ago but not used *ahem*

She's coloured with promarkers then I used my beloved Letrajet to add buttercup around her, added some old peel off corners then blended on some yellow and gold then removed the peel offs.  The little flowers are all airbrushed too using buttercup and baby pink.  Papers are papermania (yellow one) and I don't know the brown one with the yellow & pink dots
.
Hope you can join in with this lovely spring theme this week!

(BTW the hashtag I do on the title posts is deliberate - its so it shows on searches for promarkers on twitter :)  )

Violet Fairy

Here's the last of my pre-release shows and this one is Violet Fairy by Jasmine Becket-Griffith, I'm loving these new Jasmine stamps, I'm going to have to get them all!!  If you're at Stamperama over the weekend Crafts and Me will be there for their first show where they will be available to buy and they'll be available in the online shop soon afterwards.

This one is another promarker letrajet project.  I've coloured the card in a pale pink, masked the lightning bolts then graduated around them to give the glow from pinks through to purples and black.  Sentiment is by Stampng All Day.

There's a STORM coming!

Oh yes there is most definately a Storm coming!  That is a Mr Storm Lee!  Now some of you won't have a clue who I'm talking about, others may vaguely remember him but a band of us known affectionately as The Stormtroopers are big fans of a certain Storm Lee who appeared on this years X Factor.  He got stick off Simon for his name, the other judges stuck up for him, his first auditon is here.  He sailled through Boot Camp (and what a performance he gave there, you can see that one here!)  If you look closely you can see Simon nodding along although he doesn't want to admit it hehe!  He then went through the judges houses phase and gets better and better!  Great version of I cant live here

Unfortunately Storm got Louis Walsh as his mentor who saw fit to dye his hair bright red and cover him in make up :/  He left on week 2 - completely robbed!  He has such a lovely voice!

Anyway who needs the X Factor, churn them up and spit them out!  All the other contestants who left X Factor did a mad dash of christmas light switch ons and shopping centre and tacky nightclub performances, Storm on the other hand could be found doing benefit gigs for The Trevor Project  He is staunchly anti-bullying, cares about his friends and fans, he has a good heart and thats the reason I like him and that sets him apart from the others.  He's taken the time to chat with me so I know he's a good man and isn't false like many other celebs.  Having been someone who was bullied simply because of my name I really paid attention to Storm on X Factor.  I've actually changed my name ((counting...) twice by deed poll and once by marriage such was the effect it had.  Now you know me I don't talk personal stuff much but I will stand by Storm particularly given his anti-bullying stance so thought I'd tell you all about him!

Storm had an album out but it had to be pulled for the X Factor but now he's going to re-release it on itunes!  Soulfillapopkilla is a collection of 11 awesome tunes including covers of Heart of Glass and Never can say goodbye (Storm style of course!)  But the one to watch (or listen to on repeat like I do lol!) is the amazing BEAUTIFUL BLUE.  Go listen, you'll love it!

So as an Ode to Storm I've made a little Art Deco, in Beautiful Blue of course!

I started with the background, the lightning bolts (which are actually a piss take of Simon Cowell) were masked then I've airbrushed with a promarker letrajet in shades of blue and black leaving a central shine point.  The image started life as a photo below then I used some filters in paintshop pro to alter it so I could colour it and its also done in promarkers with some black pencil to add a deeper shade.  I've overstamped with brilliance ink and voila my Ode to Storm :)

And I got a signed copy of Storms album too!  I've actually listened to it waaaaaay more times than my Take That one, you can hear it here, go on, I promise its *really* good!  This is mine all mine whoop whoop!

So thanks for reading, took me ages to write! Hope you check out a fellow artist! Soulfillapopkilla re-release date 1st March 2011

I'd like to enter my art deco into....

A New Artist at Crafts & Me - JASMINE BECKET-GRIFFITH!!!

OMG OMG OHHHHH MYYYY GODDDD!!!  Jasmine Becket-Griffith has joined Crafts and Me and she has got to be my most favourite fairy artist EVER!  A few weeks ago I was on the phone to Teresa and she told me and she'll tell you how excited I was, picks jaw off the floor!!  Well now they're here and will be released for sale first at the Stamporama show in Stevenage on 6th Feb and the shop release date will be soon afterwards!

Please visit Jasmine's awesome website to see her works, she is right up my street!

So here is the first of the designs which I hope you love as much as I do - PINK LIGHTNING.  You can see Jasmine's original painting here.

She's coloured with promarkers and pencil and I've used my letrajet airbrush around the outside.  I kept the card simple and white as the image is very colour intense.
So here's your first peek of the new range coming to Crafts & Me, hope you love as much I I do!!!

Crafts & Me - Paper Tearing & I've got a new toy!

Its our first challenge of 2011 at Crafts and Me and for the next 2 weeks we'd like to see your PAPER TEARING projects!  I know this is difficult for some tearing all those lovely DP's but you can do it lol!  For this one  got to play with my new toy :D :D :D   I got a Letrajet - Promarker Airbrush System for Xmas and I'm loving it!

I've used a stamp by Hannah Lynn called Glacier Lily Fairy which is first time I've played with her.  I coloured her with promarkers and sakura stardust pens and used a yellow souffle pen on the stamens and dots on mushroom.  Then I got to play with my new toy :D  I didn't mask the image as the airbrush has pretty good control and started with canary going right into the image then some pumpkin then some bands of orange and red.  I used the same colours on the flowers which were white to start with, they take literally seconds to do and dry quickly.  I think we're going to get along just fine and think they go great with the fairies and fantsy type stamps I favour :)

I've finished the design with a few sprays of Glimmer Mist Iridescent Gold which Teresa is now stocking along with dazzling diamonds and pearl, I use all 3 depending on what colour the card is as they give such a pretty finish.  If you're wanting to try them the gold is what is what t says, clear from one angle and a beautiful shimmery gold in the light.  Pearl is the same only a pearly sheen and dazzling diamonds is quite clear and just gives a really subtle sparkle.  DP is from DCWV pocket full of posies stack.

 Showing the airbrushed flowers :)
And you can see the iridescent gold glimmer mist on here
