Blog Candy at Crafty Cardmakers

This is a new blog I'm developing aimed at new and inexperienced crafters to gain some confidence and join in the wider crafting community! It is for cardmakers, scrapbookers and any other papercrafters.

I'm currently offering some candy with an item being added each day so the stash grows bigger and bigger until we officially open on Aug 10th.

If you're new to crafting or know anybody who is then pop on over, or even if you're not new come on over and give us some support :D

There will be a challenge every other week with prizes offered by 2 most excellent sponsors plus inbetween there will be tutorials, Q&A sessions, how to's (which you can also request!) and whatever else we think of in the meantime!

Something about Simon

You may have noticed Simon around quite a bit, they often sponsor blogs and now they have some CHA candy to give away to one lucky lucky person! Simon says stamp sell well just about EVERYTHING! Bejewelled Bliss at Daring Cardmakers

Oh how can I resist such a challenge! This week pays homage to a little game on facebook called bejewelled blitz. My friend Jenny and I have a weekly banter over this game, Jenny you see is a mega expert at it and every week she wipes the floor with me. This week however I'm so far in the lead with 182, 600 points ha! She's hot on my heels though!

The challenge at daring cardmakers is to use lots of bling so in homeage to Bejewelled blitz I've created this. Its well out of my comfort zone but hey I like it :D

The image is Manga girl 2 from sugar nellie having her first run out after sitting in my drawers since she was released! She's coloured with copics. Somehow brown and blonde hair didnt suit and I've already done pink so I went for the two tone look instead.

The bejewelled grid is made from glass beads, 2nd row down is a couple of swarovski crystals which are a "Hyper ball" and the word Go is chipboard coloured with diamond stickles, bling bling!

Just Magnolia 16 - Distressing

The challenge this week at Just Magnolia is distressing, I mean to rough it up a bit its not distressing as in upsetting me you know... :D

Image is coloured with copics and then I ran the scissors round the edge then pushed on some distress ink in antique linen and then vintage photo, curled up a corner and secured with a brad (which I coloured with a copic pen coz I couldnt find a red gem brad anywhere!) Flowers are made with starburst stains and a woodware multi punch then added dots of liquid pearls and sprinkled on some crystal glitter.

Stamp something - Paper pieced

The challenge this week at Stamp Something is paper piecing, I havent done paper piecing for weeks and weeks so had to give this a whirl!As the manga girl is quite bold I wanted to try a softer look. I've paper pieced the dress, boots and ribbons in her hair with a blue starry patterned paper. The socks and top are a pink marble paper. Edged the image in adirondack shell pink, paper is HOTP
