The challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers is to Stamp Something. There is an optional extra challenge to try something new or different or a technique you haven't tried in a while such as adding swirls to the corners of your image, masking or heat embossing.
I've done a mini tutorial along the way on how I made my entry so here goes!
I've done a mini tutorial along the way on how I made my entry so here goes!
The image is part of a plate called Butterfly Beauties by Tracey Coates available at The Stampman.
STEP 1
I stamped using memento ink then coloured with promarkers (Ivory, blush, vanilla and oatmeal) for this technique I recommend colouring in the skin a shade or two darker than normal. Then I used a versamark pen, yes fabulous versamark in a pen! Colour over your skin and add clear embossing powder and heat. You might want to repeat this twice to ensure there are no tiny gaps that ink can seep through (As I found out!)
STEP 2
Ink up a brayer, I used a kaleidacolour inkpad but you can use any multicoloured inkpads and roll this across the hair section. The embossing acts as a resist and when you've achieved a good coverage of ink simply wipe the face with some kitchen towl.
STEP 3
Next I used the versamark pen again and coloured in the hair section and used a kaleidoscope embossing powder (aka holographic) which changes colour from blues through to reds the more its heated.
STEP 4
Cut out your image without worrying about the smaller bits protruding from the hairline like the leaves.
STEP 5
Thanks for looking!

Hi Vix,
I have had to give myself a challenge and get out the embossing powder's and heat gun.
Lately I have been spending so much time trying to learn how to use my copic,s, by the time I have coloured an image I am wacked and rush the rest of the card.
You amaze me with your child like, not worried, get in there attitude.
I mean that in the best sense. If I were more articulate I would know the word's... You inspire me with all the different teqnique's you use.
So I am having a go at making another card using some of those proper stamping teqnique's, you know the one's that you use an heat gun with.lol..
I have not posted it yet,but as soon as I do I will enter the challenge again this week.
Still not got any starburst stain's, If I get the chance I will at the NEC this week....
Love to visit you blog, it remind's me why I started making card's...

Fankoo all!
Vicky, a lot of what I do is trial and error so I have to tinker to find out what things do and have "happy accidents"
I love to know how things are made so I try to show how mine are done :)
Also whilst folk are busy watching corrie I'm flicking through 5 years worth of craft stamper lol!
Just arrived from vicky's blog and am so glad to be dropping by for my first visit! Fabulous colouring and great tutorial! Jo x
