A Quarter past the Bling Maiden

Take one easel card and decorate, make another and another then do a spin or two, make some shaped ones. Sits thinking what else they could be useful for? Notice that easels remind me of travel clocks so the mind starts ticking....!

I went for a circular design, clocks of course can be any shape. This is a prototype and I'll say now it will look sooooo much better using round nesties, I dont own them (yet) so mine is the old fashioned draw round a cd method ((smile)) and cut a bit smaller!

OK how'd I do it!

I started with a round base card and extra piece to stick on as a panel. For the entire design I used only 2 colours of starburst stains. These were Tibetian poppy teal and Heliotrope purple plum available from The Stampman of course.

I covered the base and panel with starburst stains paper (Used plum as base coat then blobs of teal then scrunched) The next layer on the bottom of the card and also the back of the card is the same in reverse, teal was used as the base coat with blobs of plum then scrunched.

The image is of course the delighful Bling Maiden designed by Tracey Coates which has been stamped onto a SS base. This time I watered the colour down slightly and brushed in horizontal lines over a coated cardstock letting them bleed into each other and dried with a heat gun. I've then paperpieced her face which was coloured with promarkers and painted her hair with the teal before adding lots of blingy gems :)
I made the flower at the bottom using strips of ribbon I'd dyed with the teal and plum SS and also silver.

Put it all together and it works yay! More destructions further down where to stick the clock mechanism :)

I'm entering this for

Sir Stampalot's challenge & Blog hop which can be found here

They have the theme "Movement" well yes the clock moves, it does actually work!

Stick the clock mechanism to the flap on the easel and then stick the panel to the front of the clock mechanism. When sticking the back of the mechanism on be careful not to cover the battery compartment!

  16. What can I say, I think everyone has already said it all, wow, fabulous, genius. So so clever!!

Great minds...Debbie has also been playing with the same shaped easel card and the same bling maiden design this morning too, spooky!!

PS: Vix, the design is just a tad too big for the largest round nestie, Debbie used her Cricut for the large circle, so you did right using the CD!!
